What each deduction means

Platform fee

A marketplace commission deducted from the order value. Fiverr's standard seller deduction is distinct from the fee your buyer pays.

Payment and FX fee

Receiving, withdrawal and currency conversion can be priced separately or hidden inside the exchange rate. Use the all-in percentage you can observe.

GST on provider fees

A provider may charge 18% Indian GST on its own service fee. That is different from GST you collect on your client invoice and may be eligible for input tax credit.

Platform fee calculator: frequently asked questions

How marketplace charges, payment costs and GST interact with the amount you keep.

Does GST reduce my freelance payout?
GST at 18% on a taxable domestic invoice is collected from the client and remitted, so it is not income and should not reduce the agreed fee. Separately, a platform or payment provider may add Indian GST to its own service fee. Turn on that setting only when it appears on the provider invoice.
Why can I edit every fee percentage?
Upwork fees can be contract-specific, and PayPal, Wise and Payoneer charges depend on currency, country, payment route and account terms. The presets are starting assumptions, while the percentage shown in your offer or withdrawal screen is the number that should drive your quote.
Does the result include income tax or TDS?
No. This calculator isolates platform, payment and FX costs. Income tax depends on your annual taxable income and tax treatment, while TDS is normally a credit against your final tax liability rather than a permanent fee.
How do I gross up a quote so I still receive my target amount?
Divide the amount you need to receive by one minus the combined fee rate. For example, to keep ₹100,000 after a 20% fee, quote ₹125,000 before GST because ₹125,000 × 80% equals ₹100,000.
